UCF Softball Suffered a Loss After a Long Rain Delay
Knights lost their 5th game in a row
The UCF Softball team played its home opener against the University of North Florida, but the Knights lost 2-0. They played Wednesday night at 5:30 p.m. at the UCF Softball Complex. Rain delayed the game for more than an hour. UCF’s starting pitcher Mackenzie Audas went seven innings in the defeat, striking out seven batters. Audas was making her second start of the season, while she continues to recover from a previous hand injury.
Hailey Barraco and Kahley Novak had the only two hits for the Knights during the game. Both Barraco and Novak have batting averages of .400 through the first five games. The Knights remain winless as their record dropped to 0-5.
The next game is scheduled for Friday against UT-Arlington on the opening day of the UCF Holiday Inn Select Invitational. They will play a total of 5 games over the weekend tournament, two each on Saturday and Sunday.
