Wine and Beer At Magic Kingdom
Disney’s Magic Kingdom park will pair French cuisine with wine and beer in the Be Our Guest Restaurant
Walt Disney World officials said the Be Our Guest restaurant in the new Fantasyland expansion will serve wine and beer with French cuisine for dinner.
“Our role is to finish the story,” Walt Disney World Executive Chef Lenny DeGeorge said.
Disney World parks such as Animal Kingdom, Hollywood Studios and Epcot serve alcohol in the park, but until now Magic Kingdom only served alcohol during private events.
Officials said they want to keep the authentic French theme. They said lunch will be counter service but the restaurant will transform into a full service restaurant for dinner.
Disney Spokesman, Bryan Malenius, said the Be Our Guest Restaurant will immerse guests in the world of Beauty and the Beast and is an example of how to tell stories through their “Food and Beverage experiences.”
“Our research tells us that guests expect to order beer and wine at a dining experience like this, and having a selection of wine and beer from France and Belgium complements the theme of the restaurant and it’s French-inspired cuisine,” Malenius said.
The restaurant will also serve non-alcoholic beverages in a castle-themed souvenir goblet when they order a “L’Amour Vrais” (true love).
Access to the restaurant is included with park admission and is set to debut November 19, 2012.
